Current Focus

Cindy Douglas serves as Vice President of Business Development and Attraction for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In her current role, she is responsible for the oversight of Michigan's efforts to attract new business investment to the state. She also leads the MEDC's small business initiatives. In her previous roles, she has served as the Michigan Business Ombudsman; overseen the activities of the Michigan Strategic Fund Board, Strategic Economic Investment and Commercialization Board and the Michigan Economic Growth Authority Board; and managed the back-office operations for Michigan's business incentive programs and the 21st Century Jobs Fund.

Those efforts resulted in the creation of two fund-of-funds investing nearly $200 million in equity capital funds in Michigan, an $8 million pre-seed fund for young technology companies, and $126 million in 78 awards to technology companies, research projects and entrepreneurial infrastructure.

Professional Background
Cindy has more than 30 years of experience in economic development activities with a career focus on customer advocacy, technology industries and small business. She currently serves as the Fund Manager for the Michigan Strategic Fund.
