Current Focus:
Ned Staebler is Vice President of Capital Access and Business Acceleration at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation where he is responsible for the oversight of the Michigan Strategic Fund Board and the Strategic Economic Investment and Commercialization Board. He oversees capital market development efforts to provide a continuum of capital for Michigan's growing technology companies. The centerpiece of these efforts is the 21st Century Jobs for Michigan Fund, a $2 billion, ten-year initiative to transform Michigan’s economy. As part of these efforts, Mr. Staebler has led the investment of $200 million into venture capital, private equity, and mezzanine funds and directed the portfolio management efforts of the State’s nearly 100 investments in early-stage technology companies.

Professional Background:
Prior to joining the MEDC, Mr. Staebler spent eight years trading proprietary derivative portfolios most recently as an Associate Director at Bear Stearns International Limited in London, England.

Education:
Mr. Staebler is a graduate of Harvard College and has an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
